Comfort Zone
I made these photos during my stay at the “Chateau du Val” (a castle turned into a hotel near Paris). This place “suggests” to the visitor a sense of comfort ; a feeling of “insouciance” detached from the modern life outside. As if its interior architecture and colors were specially made to remind everyone who enters this place of an epoch far away and free of problems. This place welcomes you but makes you also welcome it through your inner need for peace.
The old dog (who belongs to the manager) is blind and he seems to be a peaceful guardian to this place. The dreamy blue color of his eyes are matched with the color of the candy in the last picture ; a symbol of this visual comfort that a person can “taste” inside his mind, body and soul.
