L’Insouciance
L’Insouciance or “recklessness” is a word that has been haunting me for years. And the more I get older the more I get to feel the importance of that word that is getting more and more predominant on my mind. With age, this “childhood feeling” becomes more and more rare as we become more and more absorbed by our everyday problems. And the older we get the bigger our problems get. This work focuses on “moments of escape” or more accurately it builds a return bridge to that lost recklessness. Some images refer directly to the theme as directed by my perception. While others are symbolic and show the way I imagined and projected this Insouciance around me.
Work on this series began in July 2020 just after the first confinement in France due to the Covid-19 outbreak, and could be considered as a reaction showing a momentary lapse of a “return to normal life” as we knew it before the arrival of this pandemic.
